Bottom Line:

Why Do Fools Fall In Love is the story of 50's teenage doo-wop sensation Frankie Lymon. The story opens with Lymon's singing career which began in 1956 in Harlem with a group called the Teenagers. It was Lymon's high-pitched voice that got the Teenagers' their first recording contract and into the midst of rock 'n' roll. Lymon's career skyrocketed then plummeted over a 12 year span. Lymon died of a drug overdose in 1968. Between the time of his rise to fame and his death, Lymon managed to marry three women at the same time.
Why Do Fools Fall In Love  is about the widow's court battle for the profits from Lymon's songwriting after Diana Ross re-record Lymon's greatest hit "Why Do Fools in Love" in 1986. The story is told through the eyes of each of Lymon's wives.
Why Do Fools in Love  offers brilliant performances by Halle Berry, Vivica A. Fox, Lela Rochon and Larenz Tate. Baby Boomers will enjoy the music and the black and white footage which peppers the film.
