A brilliant detective paralyzed from a falling beam, uses a feisty street- smart policewoman as his eyes and ears.
Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Queen Latifah
Bottom Line:

Denzel Washington plays New York police detective Lincoln Rhyme, one of the country's top forensic criminoloist who finds himself bed-ridden with his arms and legs paralyzed after a near-fatal accident. Rhyme has given up on life, and shuns any attempt by the police department to enlist his expertise in solving crimes until the physical evidence in a gruesome murder intrigues him.
With his mouse in hand and trusty computer at his side, Rhyme begins working with feisty beat cop Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie) who was the first officer the murder scene where the victim is buried in gravel, with only his hand showing and one finger amputated with his wife's wedding ring on its stump.
Donaghy spends the rest of the movie searching for a serial killer in a bunch of plot set-ups where she enters dark places (subterranean ratholes and abandoned factories) alone with her flashlight searching for a homicidal maniac.
"The Bone Collector" is a run-of-the-mill thriller with some great performances by Washington and Jolie wasted on contrivances plot holes and some pretty gross scenes that are not for the squeamish.
