Angels In The Outfield

(1 hr. 45 min.)

A losing baseball manager is taught to keep the faith.

Danny Glover, Tony Danza, Christopher Lloyd

Bottom Line:

Danny Glover stars a gruff California Angels manager in this by-the-numbers baseball story about angels literally lending a helping hand to a failing ball club. Of course, the angels can only be seen by an 11-year-old boy, and of course, he's from a broken home. That's the standard formula in these fantasy type movies.
The sad fact is, after you've seen the angels help the players play phenomenal ball, there isn't much suspense left -- because you know the angels are going to help the ball club win.
Angels In The Outfield is a little too predictable, and the movie's special effects don't hold up to today's standards.
