Will Smith talks about "MIB2"

Will Smith says he was pleased to do the sequel mainly because his biggest thrill has been the audience’s reactions. “Anytime you have a combination of a laughter and clap, that is the ultimate feeling right there,” Smith said. “That means you’ve really done something right. When Michael Jackson comes on the screen, the audience just roars. The ‘Who Let the Dogs Out’ [bit]: hilarious. There are those couple of moments in the film where the audience doesn’t hear the next 6 or 7 seconds and that’s when you’re really winning. I’m very happy. I think this film is definitely funnier than the first film.”

After his Oscar-nominated performance in “Ali” "MIB2" was a huge transition. “I trained for a year and a half with dialect coaches, Islamic studies, physical training, [and also] a neural biologist teaching me how the human brain works and how to create known passages to help me to move more like Ali,” Smith began when comparing the MIB sequel with “Ali.” “The extent of my research for Men in Black 2 was to watch the first movie again. There’s a huge difference between doing a film like ‘Men in Black 2’ and ‘Ali.’”
