A dark suspense story dealing with a serial killer who seems to be connected with the Catholic Church. It is set in the Bronx, close to Halloween. Someone is killing local parishioners and a Detective meets a priest who claims to be from the Vatican and is there to help solve the crimes. We soon learn the priest actually believes he is the Biblical Cain (of Cain and Abel) who wanders the Earth trying to stop evil so that he can finally die and enter heaven. Is he really Cain or just insane? And why does the Detective seem to remember him?
