Coverage:

I was pleasantly surprised, because we've covered this turf too many times in other movies. You know, a tough drill officer put in charge of a platoon of misfits, they hate him at first, and then they love him. Then there's the emotionally charged ending, where either through a war or a competition, they become first-rate soldiers. Well, it's the same predictability here, but I found myself laughing out loud at this excellent comedy.
Wayans plays a gold-toothed killing machine, a one-note character straight out of In Living Color, which should work against him in a feature film, but Wayans is so great and over-the-top his character works. Major Payne  is a feel-good obnoxiously funny movie.
