Tommy Lee Jones convincingly plays (with a thick Irish accent) an escaped IRA terrorist who enjoys murdering Boston bomb squad officers in the tense thriller. Jeff Bridges is the hot-shot leader of the bomb squad, who after one too many close calls, decides to teach recruits rather than disarm bombs. That is until he figures out that Jones is an old friend out of his past.      Going after Jones turns out to be a pretty good idea, because the first 35 minutes of the film is rather slow paced. Forest Whitaker is good as the young recruit who replaces Bridges on the bomb squad, not only figuring out the connection between Jones and Bridges' past -- he figures out which wire to cut. The red one...? I mean, green. No, definitely, blue.
