Al Pacino stars as the head coach of the Miami Sharks, a struggling professional football team. Pacino becomes in conflict with the team's president and co-owner Cameron Diaz when the team suddenly becomes a winner behind a brash rookie quarterback, Jamie Foxx, who gets thrushed into the starting position. Foxx gets the team off to a shaky start, but as Foxx's level of play increasingly gets better, his ego inflates causing turmoil within the team. An Oliver Stone film, Any Given Sunday is a high-energy, hard-hitting film which takes its audience onto the gridiron for every bone-crushing blow. Pacino gives a great performance as a grizzled coach and Foxx turns in a believable performance as a spoiled '90s athlete.
