Coverage:
Senior high school basketball star, Kyle-Lee Watson (Duane Martin) starts to feel the pressures of being recruited by both Georgetown University and a drug dealer (Tupac Shakur) who is assembling a basketball team for the Rucker's basketball tournament. The tournament, held every year in Harlem, has showcased basketball legends Julius Erving, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar to name a few. Shep (Leon), once a Harlem basketball playground legend himself, returns to his old neighborhood and tries fit back in. Once there, he sees a younger version of himself in the youthful hot shot Watson. Shep's mission becomes tying to steer Watson away from the drug dealer and towards Georgetown. But first, Shep has to deal with the real reasons he left Harlem.
The story in this street drama suffices, but the tournament basketball play more than makes up for any plot holes. |
