In this hilarious horror-comedy sequel, Tiffany (Diamond White) is dead set on spending her 18th birthday at a Halloween frat party on a remote lake that was once the scene of a gruesome murder.  Concerned for her welfare, her Great-Aunt Madea (Perry) drags her elderly companions Uncle Joe (Perry), Aunt Bam (Cassi Davis) and Hattie (Patrice Lovely) out to the lake to check on her. But when the terrified seniors encounter a series of ghostly apparitions and masked killers, they become the ones in need of rescuing.

Loaded with raucous humor, there is camaraderie and certainly more chemistry amongst the eclectic characters, who delightfully dish out the comedy. Perry aptly combines chaos and comedy with plenty of rants, riffs and profane tirades and the scenes with Madea, Uncle Joe, Aunt Bam and Hattie driving to the lake on their rescue mission are the funniest to watch. No topics are out of bounds and everything from bad breath, pimping to private parts are fodder for humor as the four engage in rapid-fire comic banter with one another. Also, seeing a 6-foot-6, 350-pound Madea sprinting for her life while being chased by a blade-wielding maniac is certainly comical to watch.

“They are hysterical,” Perry says. “When you put them in a room with Madea and Joe, the comedy is just nonstop. It’s like all of the old people in my family when they sit around. We have this great chemistry, because we all love working together and we all love each other.”

When it was released last October, Tyler Perry’s “Boo! A Madea Halloween” became the second highest-grossing feature in a long line of hits written by and starring Perry, who doubles as director and producer.

“This sequel has bigger laughs and bigger fun. The old gang is back and we are all just having a good time,” Perry adds. “There’s so much fun in Madea being vulnerable and scared of things and I wasn’t ready to let it go. I had to go for it.”

“Boo 2!” will have no trouble connecting with Perry’s fans, but beyond the gut wrenching humor, this family dramedy, Perry says, also has a message about co-parenting.

“It’s about divorced parents having to raise an out of control teen. Maybe there is a better way to co-parent, and the message to kids is that parents aren’t that bad,” he continues. “They’re usually just doing their best to look out for you. On the other hand, parents can lighten up a bit, and give their kids a little space. Other than that, it’s just a damn fun ride.”
