In Hollywood, L.A. and the surrounding area there are a few well known restaurants owned by famous Hollywood stars. Here are just a few of the better known eateries and clubs owned by Hollywood's most famous retauranteur/club owners. (No, the defunct Planet Hollywood chain didn't make the list!)
The Clubhouse

Exclusive golf country club. Marble floors, mahogany doors, velvet drapes, even a stock ticker running above the bar.

Lunch entrees range from $8.95 to $11.95. Dinner entrees range from $13.95 to $17.95. If you're feeling flush, they do have a separate, pricier menu which includes a New York steak priced at $28.95.

Was owned and operated by Paul Newman and a backyard grilling friend for over 20 years but now it's under new ownership.
Theme:
Great backyard burger bar. Discounts for S.A.G. members. Agents pay extra if they're dumn enough to let the staff know what they do for a living.
Menu:
Still grilling burgers as originally designed by Paul Newman and friend. Includes a choice of 34 different toppings, including caviar, peanut butter, sour plum jam, pepper sauce, broccoli, and more. In addition to a beef hamburger, you can choose ostrich, venison, buffalo, beefalo, salmon, turkey, veggie, fish, chicken breast, and even gator! Over 400 hamburger diversions in all. Dinner for two is about $28.

Theme:
A giant tin shack inspired by an old metal cotton gin that stood outside Clarksdale, Mississippi. The corrugated tin is from that same gin mill and genuine Mississippi mud is under the stage and in the planters.
Menu:
Reasonably priced entrees from $8-$18 or about $25 per person total on average. Brunch is a flat $21. Dinner on the night of a concert performance requires a reservation but that's the only time; otherwise, seating is first-come-first-served.

Small, seven-table pizzaria with red-checkered tablecloths. Your waitress and cook is often Ms. Moriarty, herself.
Menu:
New York-style pizza made with imported New York water for an authentic New York-style thin-crust.

This one is different. Really different, with upholstered booths and the drapes made out of hemp and chairs of cobalt blue.
Menu:
The menu includes 20-minute tokes of O2 served from tanks, via hookahs (water pipes) at a cost of $13 and you can get flavored O2 for an additional $2. For the stomach, the menu includes a strictly uncooked vegetarian fare of pasta dishes (the noodles are made from sliced zucchini), salads, freshly squeezed juices, hemp burgers, veggie pizza, etc. Dinner for two averages $30-$45. (I said it was different)

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver (Arnold's celebrity wife) but currently leased to ice cream baron Charly Temmel. Schwarzenegger still owns the building and continues to eat there and attend the monthly cigar nights.
Theme:
Discreet, casualbut chic neighborhood café. Definetly not a theme restaurant.
Menu:
Breakfast and common American dinner dishes such as meatloaf, fish, veal chops, big desserts, as well as Austrian dishes like wienerschnitzel, apple strudel (nade from Arnold's mother's recipe), bratwurst, knackwurst, Austrian grilled tenderloin (zwiebel rost braten), and molasses-glazed rack of lamb. Dinneraverages $35 to $75.

Rock nightclub. Things warm up about midnight. The Viper Room features wall vibrating live music every night accompanied by light shows. Art Deco interior design with color-softened white walls, cherrywood floors and a huge downstairs bar.
Menu:
A sandwich, if you're lucky and you've asked early enough in the evening.
