Anthony Anderson’s primetime TV show ''Black-ish" swept the awards at the 47th NAACP Image Awards ceremony Friday. The sitcom won awards in the television category for Outstanding TV Comedy and lead actor award for Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross and supporting actor nods for its young casts Marsai Martin and Marcus Scribner.
The two-hour live special hosted by Anthony Anderson was held Friday night at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

Actors Michael B. Jordan and O'Shea Jackson Jr. both took home multiple awards. Jordan received the best actor for the Rocky reboot "Creed" and Entertainer of the Year, while Jackson Jr. earned a supporting actor accolade for "Straight Outta Compton" and netted an ensemble trophy when the film won for best motion picture.

Asked backstage by Blackflix.com to sum up his awards experience with one of his dad’s song, Jackson easily replied ‘Today Was A Good Day."

Other award recipients included John Legend who took home the President’s Award, which was presented to him by NAACP President Cornell William Brooks. Actor Mike Epps earned a nod for his turn as Uncle Julius on "Survivor’s Remorse," "Empire" which won for Outstanding Drama Series while Regina King, Queen Latifah, Sanaa Lathan  and Taraji P. Henson all received acting nods.

The NAACP Image Awards which aired live on TV One, celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film, and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.

Not all the categories were shown on Friday's show as the winners of the Image Awards in the non-televised categories were announced during a gala dinner celebration a day earlier at the same venue and was hosted by Affion Crockett and Nischelle Turner.
